Lupen tracks the costs of your AI coding sessions. Large language models like Claude and Codex charge based on usage. Lupen watches your interactions and calculates exactly what you spend. It works on your machine to ensure your data stays local.
Visit this page to download the current version of the software. Look for the file ending in .exe under the Assets section. Save this file to your computer.
Windows might show a warning message when you open the file for the first time. This happens because the software is new. Follow these steps to complete the setup:
Lupen maintains a record of every request you send to Claude Code or Codex. It reads the token usage metrics from your coding tools. It translates these technical units into currency. You can view your total spend per session, per day, or per project.
The software records these metrics locally. It does not send your personal data to any external server. You keep full control over your usage history.
Lupen offers several tools to manage your AI usage:
Check your computer before you start:
Does Lupen see my code? No. Lupen only monitors the metadata regarding how many tokens you use. It never reads the content of your files or your codebase.
How accurate is the cost estimate? The software calculates costs based on the public pricing lists provided by AI companies. It matches your usage logs against these prices. Small variances may occur if a company changes their rates without prior notice.
Can I run it on startup? Yes. Open the settings menu within the application and select the option to start Lupen when you turn on your computer.
What happens to my data if I delete the app? Your logs stay in a local folder on your drive. If you want to clear your data, delete the log file located in your user directory before you remove the application.
If you experience issues, ensure you have the latest version of your AI coding tool installed. Lupen relies on specific file formats to track logs. If the app fails to show data, restart your coding tool and open Lupen again.
For feedback or suggestions, visit the GitHub repository. You can open a new issue to describe your problem. Provide a screenshot if you encounter an error message. Our team reviews these requests to improve the tool for all users.
Your privacy remains the priority. The architecture of Lupen ensures that all calculations happen on your hardware. No third party gains access to your usage logs or your API configurations through this application.
